There are several main types of 25G SFP28 optical modules:
25GBASE-SR: Supports the 25GBASE-SR Ethernet standard, used for short-distance multimode fiber transmission. It utilizes LC interfaces and can achieve a link transmission of up to 100m over multimode fiber.
25GBASE-LR: Supports the 25GBASE-LR Ethernet standard, used for long-distance single-mode fiber transmission. It utilizes LC interfaces and can achieve a link transmission of up to 10km over single-mode fiber.
25GBASE-ER: Supports the 25GBASE-ER Ethernet standard, used for even longer-distance single-mode fiber transmission. It typically utilizes LC interfaces and can achieve a link transmission of up to 40km over single-mode fiber.
25GBASE-ZR: Supports the 25GBASE-ZR Ethernet standard, used for ultra-long-distance single-mode fiber transmission. It typically utilizes LC interfaces and can achieve a link transmission of up to 80km over single-mode fiber.
These provide a variety of choices based on different transmission distances, fiber types, and application scenarios.
